4) Use modern technology to add energy to your talk, but don’t let it take over. Slides or short videos can engage an audience more than just a long stream of words. Humans react strongly to graphics and images, which helps you get your points over.

But remember: the audience are there to see and hear from you: so don’t lose yourself in the technology. Used correctly and technology can connect you with your audience; used incorrectly and it will distance you from them.

5) Be positive. Find a positive, encouraging, life-affirming, upbeat spin. Your audience will appreciate the positivity, and can-do attitude. Face it, no one wants to listen to downer message.
